
Alexandra Rose Raisman (born May 25 in 1994) is an ex-retired American artistic gymnast and two-time Olympian. She was the captain of both the 2012 "Fierce Five" and 2016 "Final Five" U.S. women's Olympic gymnastics teams, who were winners in their respective team competitions.At the 2012 Olympics in London she took home gold medals in both floor and team competitions and also the bronze medal on the balance beam, making her the most well-known American gymnast of the Games. At the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she won a gold medal in the team competition which made her and her co-teammate Gabby Douglas the only Americans who won back-toback team gold medals. Raisman was also awarded silver medals for individual all-around and floor exercise. Raisman has silver medals from the all-around for the individual in addition to the floor exercise. She has also been two-time national champion in the floor exercise (2012 2012, 2015) as well as the 2012 national champion on the balance beam and she has won five medals in the all-around at the national championships (silver in 2016, bronze in 2011 and 2015). She was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame (2013).
