AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is a striker. She also is captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest level of women's soccer in the United States. From 2018 to 2020, she was co-captained by America's women's national soccer soccer team along with Megan Rapinoe. [8][9] Shortly after graduating in the early years of the University of California, Berkeley, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was selected as the top pick in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. There, she made her debut in professional football and helped the team win the league title. Morgan was 22 at the time and the youngest member of the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final match against Canada at the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal. She was the second player in the U.S. to score 20 goals and 21 assists for 2012, which makes her the seventh-highest-scoring athlete in the nation to score 20 goals in a single year. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, in which she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
